Soil Sorter - 1st Shift

Job Summary

We are currently looking for a Soil Sorter at our Mason Healthcare Laundry facility. The ideal candidate is confident in decision making, can act quickly, and has excellent communication skills.

• Understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Open laundry carts and empty hamper bags onto the sorting table.
• Sort linen by fabric type and accurately weigh sorted loads.
• Send linen to washers via negative air system and operate laundry equipment in either automatic or manual mode.
• Identify instruments, sharp items, hospital‑owned linen, and other foreign objects and place them in appropriate receptacles.
• Place empty laundry carts in cart wash and operate washing machinery.
• Deposit instruments and other washable, returnable objects in wash rack and process through dishwasher or commercial washer, and wash all stainless basins.
• Completely clean and disinfect soil sort area at the end of shift.
• Mentor or train fellow associates and perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
