Position Summary
We are seeking an Associate Manufacturing Engineer to support our manufacturing engineering team across machining, powder coating, upholstery, assembly, maintenance, facilities, ERP data, and continuous improvement. This is an early-career, hands-on technical role for someone who enjoys both shop-floor problem solving and computer-based engineering work. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, basic CAD experience, interest or experience with manual machines, and the ability to learn ERP/BOM/routing setup, work instructions, fixture support, equipment troubleshooting, and manufacturing process improvement.

Key Responsibilities
- Support daily manufacturing operations by helping resolve technical issues related to processes, equipment, tooling, fixtures, routings, work instructions, materials, and production flow.
- Provide first-line technical support for equipment, tooling, fixture, and process issues, including basic troubleshooting, documentation, escalation, and coordination with senior engineering, maintenance, vendors, or production leadership.
- Assist with ERP setup and maintenance, including bills of material, routings, work centers, operation steps, item data, production documentation, and manufacturing master data.
- Support engineering change activity through the ECR/ECN process by helping review, document, and implement changes to products, processes, BOMs, routings, fixtures, tooling, and work instructions.
- Create, update, and maintain work instructions, standard operating procedures, visual aids, setup instructions, inspection references, and other shop-floor documentation.
- Assist with fixture, tooling, and jig design, fabrication, modification, repair, and validation using CAD, hand tools, and basic shop equipment as appropriate.
- Support maintenance and facilities activities by documenting equipment issues, updating preventive maintenance information, tracking corrective actions, coordinating vendor support, and assisting with technical follow-up.
- Support continuous improvement and industrial engineering activities, including 5S, visual management, workstation setup, material flow, time studies, process observations, capacity review, and bottleneck identification.
- Collect and analyze production data, support root cause analysis, and participate in corrective action efforts related to safety, quality, delivery, productivity, equipment reliability, and process stability.
- Associate degree in a technical field required; bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred.
- 0-5 years of experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in hands-on manufacturing work.
- Basic CAD experience and ability to create or modify parts, assemblies, and layouts using 3D design software.
- Strong attention to detail when working with ERP data, work instructions, drawings, process documentation, and technical records.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and technical specifications.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement principles.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Frequent standing, lifting, bending, and movement throughout the warehouse
- Ability to work overtime, including short-notice scheduling when required
- Comfortable operating warehouse tools and material handling equipment in a fast-paced production environment
