Summary of job contents
Key accountabilities
- Assembles and lay out components on a system according to the design specifications.
- Wires and routes cable harnesses in an electrical cabinet as per the wiring schematic.
- Hand wiring may be required in some cabinets
- Verifies and troubleshoots panel boards using a multi-meter to verify continuity.
- Uses various hand tools, torque tools, screwdrivers, crimpers, cutters and wire strippers
- Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, rivets or other fasteners.
- Ability to keep performance standards at a high level. Performance is "work quality and quantity, attitude, ability to work as a team member and communicating in a positive manner".
- Communicate with the Engineers to clarify any issues or relay any corrections or changes to the electrical design.
- Responsible for updating shop folder with assembly and test data.
- Maintains, organizes, and cleans work area compliant with 5S Standards.
- Overtime may be required for short term or long term duration, as business needs mandate.
- Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as required.
Knowledge and Experience
- Aptitude to read schematics and blueprints required.
- Electrical / Panel Building experience preferred.
- Demonstrated mechanical ability
- Prior experience in a "technician" role.
- Possess good communication skills and an ability to adapt to changing situations
- Ability to perform job to safety, quality and delivery expectations
