Manufacturing Engineer, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Position Summary
The Equipment Specialist is a technical position requiring advanced technical skills and hands‑on experience in machining, turning, grinding, and other metalworking fabrication methods. This role requires the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and understand geometric tolerancing, and the ability to perform conversational programming on knee mills and lathes.
Essential Functions- Able to work on tasks encompassing complete projects or portions of projects under the guidance of a Senior Equipment Specialist or Management
- Ability to fabricate parts of moderate to significant levels of complexity with efficiency and accuracy
- Ability to solve problems of significant scope and complexity
- Works under general supervision
- Ability to specify materials used to fabricate fixtures and tools
- Ability to effectively train Technicians and Associates on the proper use of fixtures and equipment
- Fabricates, assembles, and debug fixtures, gages, and tooling to facilitate efficient assembly of products
- Verifies accuracy of work utilizing various measuring techniques
- Works with Tooling Engineers to specify materials for equipment
- Demonstrated exceptional mechanical aptitude
- Demonstrated ability to work to tight tolerances (+/- .0005")
- Regular and predictable work performance
- Ability to work under fast-paced conditions
- Ability to make decisions and use good judgement
- Ability to prioritize various duties and multitask as required
- Ability to successfully work with others
- Additional duties as assigned
- Undergraduate degree, vocational school, or related experience
- 3+ years of experience in a comparable position
- Machining experience
- Computer/data entry skills
- Verbal communication skills
- Problem solving/troubleshooting experience
- Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
- Assembly experience
- Basic CAD experience
- Engineering/design background
- Basic Master Cam knowledge
- Ability to regularly walk, sit, or stand as needed
- Ability to occasionally bend and push/pull as needed
- Ability to regularly lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift over 25 pounds
- Ability to pass pre‑employment drug screen and background check
