Overview
Hi‑Tek Manufacturing is searching for experienced CNC Machinists who wish to develop their career in advanced manufacturing technology by executing a higher level of workmanship. Hi‑Tek is currently hiring for multiple departments: mills, lathe/turn, grinding (creep feed, huffman, campbell).
Essential Tasks And Functions- Set‑up and operate a variety of CNC machines including 3, 4, and 5 axis milling machines, VTL’s, horizontal lathes/turn, creep feed and 5 axis grinders.
- Upload/download and edit CNC programs as required.
- Analyze and interpret operation sheets, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and travelers to produce products that meet or exceed customer specifications.
- Execute CNC machining to produce required parts in a timely manner according to process documentation, including operating multiple pieces of equipment simultaneously.
- Verify conformance of finished work pieces to customer specifications using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, optical comparators, CMM).
- Maintain knowledge of CNC principles, including G and M codes.
- Select, align, and secure fixtures, tooling, and work pieces on machines as necessary.
- Monitor and troubleshoot machining processes, adjusting machine offsets and reprogramming controls as needed.
- Perform first‑piece, in‑process, and last‑piece inspections.
- Deburr or rework work in process within specified tolerances.
- Operate overhead crane when necessary.
- Document actions by updating control charts, travelers, and reporting labor in the ERP system.
- Operate under AS9100 and NADCAP quality standards.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment through daily housekeeping.
- Accomplish organizational goals by accepting ownership of new and different requests and adding value to job execution.
- Communicate effectively with Quality, Engineering, and Management teams.
- Follow all Hi‑Tek policies and procedures, including PPE use.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- CNC Machining certificate from a trade school preferred or acceptable work experience in lieu of schooling.
- Must meet the ITAR definition of 120.15 U.S. person.
- Knowledge of Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Okuma controls preferred.
- Experience with G & M codes preferred.
- Good technical math skills (shop math, geometry, trigonometry).
- Experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment, aerospace industry preferred.
- Troubleshooting and critical‑thinking skills.
- Ability to work efficiently with others or independently.
- Integrity and conscientiousness in all work‑related matters.
- Safety consciousness at all times.
- Reliable attendance within acceptable policy standards.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Lift, push, and/or pull up to thirty‑five (35) pounds regularly.
- Operate overhead crane or other lifting equipment when necessary.
- Stand at least 95% of scheduled shift on raised platform.
- Walk or climb stairs as needed to perform job duties.
- Perform repetitive reaching, twisting, bending, and grasping motions.
- Use gross and fine motor skills to manage parts, tools, and tooling.
- Maintain 20/20 vision (natural or corrected) and pass an annual vision test.
1st Shift: Monday‑Friday, 7:00 am‑3:30 pm.
2nd Shift: Monday‑Friday, 3:30 pm‑12:00 am. 2nd shift offers a generous shift differential.
Overtime may be required as needed on either or both shifts.
Compensation DetailsHourly wage: $25‑30. Overtime may be required.
