Hi-Tek Manufacturing Inc in Southington, CT is seeking an EDM Machine Operator to set up, operate, and monitor wire and sinker EDM equipment producing precision components for aerospace, medical, and high-tech customers. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, inspecting parts to tight tolerances, performing basic programming edits, and maintaining equipment. You'll collaborate with engineers and machinists, follow safety and quality standards, support continuous improvement, and help solve complex manufacturing challenges in a clean, quality-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor wire and sinker EDM machines to produce precision parts
- Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and GD&T requirements
- Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools to verify tight tolerances
- Make basic program and offset adjustments to maintain part quality
- Select and set up tooling, work holding, and fixtures for efficient production
- Maintain machines through routine cleaning, preventive maintenance, and minor troubleshooting
- Document production data and inspection results according to quality standards
- Collaborate with engineers and machinists to resolve manufacturing and quality issues
- Follow all safety, quality, and 5
- S/lean manufacturing procedures
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in processes and workflow
