Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tree Production Grower Assistant to support our pot-in-pot tree operations. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on outdoor work, thrive in a team environment, and want to advance their horticultural knowledge in a professional production setting. You will work closely with the Lead Grower to ensure the health, quality, and successful development of our tree crops.
Responsibilities
- Assist with planting, spacing, and proper placement of trees in pot-in-pot systems
- Support and help guide seasonal and full-time production team members
- Monitor, adjust, and troubleshoot irrigation systems
- Apply fertilizers and pest management treatments under supervision
- Prune, stake, and train trees to ensure strong structure and market-ready quality
- Assist with tagging, inventory tracking, and shipping preparation
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe growing environment
- Document observations and promptly report issues to the Lead Grower
- 2-3 years of nursery production, horticulture, or related agricultural experience preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Basic understanding of irrigation, fertilization, and pest management principles
- Strong attention to detail with a willingness to learn and grow
- Team-oriented mindset with clear communication skills
