NDT Inspector – Fluorescent Penetrant (FPI)

Schedule: Evening shift, weekdays; overtime as required

Role Overview

Perform nondestructive inspection activities using Fluorescent Penetrant methods to evaluate manufactured components and ensure conformance to technical and quality requirements.

Core Responsibilities
  • Conduct FPI inspections in accordance with applicable procedures and specifications
  • Interpret work instructions, technical drawings, and inspection documentation
  • Inspect components using precision measuring and inspection equipment
  • Prepare, maintain, and monitor penetrant solutions and inspection materials
  • Evaluate inspected parts under ultraviolet light and document results
  • Record inspection data and labor activity accurately
  • Maintain cleanliness of parts, equipment, and inspection areas
  • Follow safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
  • Communicate inspection status, findings, and issues as required
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • FPI certification required (Level I minimum; Level II preferred or in progress)
  • Experience performing FPI inspections in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and inspection criteria
  • Familiarity with inspection tools and measurement devices
  • Experience with repair, overhaul, or additional NDT methods is a plus
  • U.S. person status required
Physical / Work Conditions
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Manual handling of parts and tools
  • Visual acuity suitable for detailed inspection under UV lighting
  • Routine bending, reaching, and fine motor use
