Position Overview
The Senior Research Associate will support day-to-day laboratory operations by conducting hands-on experiments, analyzing data, and assisting in product and process development. This role focuses on building foundational scientific knowledge while executing well-defined experimental tasks and supporting research initiatives.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and eager to learn in a dynamic R&D environment.

Key Responsibilities

Laboratory & Research Work
  • Perform hands-on laboratory experiments and procedural work
  • Execute sample preparation and analysis using standard testing methods
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment
  • Document experimental procedures, observations, and results accurately
  • Identify inconsistencies, errors, or unusual findings and escalate appropriately
Product & Process Development
  • Support development of prototype products and technical understanding
  • Analyze relationships between input variables and experimental outcomes
  • Assist in improving lab processes, productivity, and efficiency
  • Maintain compliance with safety standards and lab protocols
Systems & Documentation
  • Originate and revise product specifications using Enovia
  • Route materials and standards for peer review and approval
  • Understand relationships between master specifications, individual specs, and standards
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
  • Work closely with cross-functional R&D teams
  • Contribute ideas to improve experimental processes and workflows
  • Participate in a collaborative, fast-paced innovation environment
Required Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Engineering, Mechanical, or related field or High School Diploma with relevant hands-on experience
  • 0-3 years of laboratory, R&D, or technical experience
  • Basic math skills (algebra, geometry, trigonometry)
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments
Required Technical Skills
  • Experience with Enovia (specifications, routing, standards)
  • Understanding of specification hierarchy (master vs individual specs)
Preferred Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, data comparison, analysis)
  • Experience working with formulation data (e.g., fill weight sheets, product specs)
