Armor is seeking a skilled and motivated Travel Millwright to join our growing team. We're looking for a hands-on professional who takes pride in craftsmanship, thrives in a dynamic environment, and enjoys the variety that comes with travel and installation work. The ideal candidate will possess strong fabrication and welding skills, experience reading blueprints, and the ability to work independently while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

What You'll Do

As a Travel Millwright, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing precision components and structural systems while ensuring all work meets exact specifications and customer requirements.

Our team is required to travel about 40% of the year, often being away up to 30 days at a time. While traveling, you will regularly work 12+ hours per day. When not traveling, you will work in our Mason facility welding, fabricating, or doing maintenance work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, lay out, fit, and tack weld precision frame weldments and brackets.
  • Fabricate and weld components using mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
  • Read and interpret complex blueprints, assembly drawings, and weld symbols.
  • Square, align, and maintain precise geometries and tight tolerances.
  • Perform both vertical and horizontal welding applications.
  • Understand and execute proper edge preparation techniques prior to welding.
  • Complete cosmetic finishing work using grinders, sanders, and other finishing tools.
  • Safely move, position, and install large components using overhead cranes and rigging equipment.
  • Ensure projects are completed according to specifications, schedules, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Production, and leadership teams.
  • Travel to customer locations to assist with installations, repairs, and equipment setup as required.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to workplace safety, craftsmanship, and customer satisfaction.
What You Bring

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 5 years of fabrication experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
  • Valid passport or ability to obtain
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Experience working with mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
  • Strong knowledge of welding symbols, fit-up techniques, and fabrication processes.
  • Experience operating cranes and utilizing safe rigging practices.
  • Must own personal tools required for daily tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Welder I certification or ability to meet Welder I criteria.
  • Experience in custom fabrication, mechanical installation, or industrial equipment assembly.
  • Previous travel or field service experience is a plus.
