Senior Software Engineer

Productivity Pilot is scaling to solve the complex problem of workforce absence. We are at a pivotal moment in our technical evolution. We are looking for a Code-First Senior Engineer to join our core team.

NOTE: Please do not apply if you are not able to travel to the office in Mason, OH (north Cincinnati, OH suburb). This is a hybrid position.

You are a veteran engineer (12+ years) who still loves to code. You have "been there, done that" with complex migrations and legacy systems, but you remain humble, curious, and hungry to build. You don’t want to be a manager who sits in meetings; you want to be the engineer who solves the hardest problem in the room.

If we had to sum up your impact, here is what you will do for us:

• Increase Execution Velocity: You ship code. You don’t get stuck in analysis paralysis.
• Strengthen Team Maturity: You will elevate the team’s skills and processes by example, not by decree.
• Improve Quality & Process: You will stabilize the codebase and implement CI/CD patterns that prevent regression.
• Reduce Migration Risk: You will help lead the technical execution of moving our core systems to a modern cloud architecture safely and efficiently.

• Mentor by Doing: You will pair with and mentor mid-level and junior engineers, not through formal training sessions, but by collaboratively solving high-stakes problems and reviewing code, ensuring knowledge transfer is organic and effective.
• Unblock the Business: Currently, our Customer Success and Implementation teams rely on engineering for configuration changes. You will build the internal tools and UIs that empower them to self-serve, freeing up the dev team to focus on product.
• Master Integrations: Architect and build integration layers for 3rd-party APIs, handling a mix of modern (REST/JSON) and legacy (SOAP/XML) protocols.
• Build End-to-End: You will own features from the SQL database schema all the way to the frontend UI.
• Earn Trust by Shipping: You will win the respect of the existing team not by your title, but by the quality and volume of the code you contribute.
• Execute the Migration: Navigate the complexities of moving from legacy on-premise architectures to a modern Azure environment.

• 12+ Years
  
  Experience:
  
  Deep expertise in C# / .NET (Framework & Core) and SQL Server/Azure SQL.
• Cloud Fluency: Strong competence in Azure (or AWS with a willingness to switch).
• Versatility: You are primarily a backend master, but you are willing to jump into Frontend code (React/Angular/JS) to get the job done.
• Integration Specialist: You are not intimidated by complex data structures from external API documentation and integrating it to existing systems.
• Collaborative Leader: Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with established development procedures, including source control management using Git (feature branches, PRs, merges), peer code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and adherence to software engineering best practices.
• Personality: Senior but humble. You are a team-builder, not a disruptor.
