Compensation: $145K–$150K
Position OverviewOur client, a well-established and growing organization within the professional services space, is seeking a hands‑on Controller to oversee and lead day‑to‑day accounting and financial operations. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial reporting, managing accounting processes and controls, and partnering cross‑functionally with operational leadership to support business performance and strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee all core accounting functions including AP/AR, payroll, billing, general ledger, reconciliations, and month‑end close
- Manage financial reporting processes and ensure timely, accurate preparation of financial statements
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis activities
- Monitor project/job‑level financial performance, including profitability tracking and variance analysis
- Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Partner with operational teams to improve financial processes and reporting visibility across the organization
- Oversee compliance with GAAP, audits, tax reporting, and regulatory requirements
- Support payroll‑related accounting, benefits accounting, and related financial processes
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff within a collaborative, fast‑paced environment
- Provide financial insights and ad hoc reporting to support leadership decision‑making
- 5–10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
- Prior leadership or team management experience required
- Strong understanding of financial operations, reporting, and internal controls
- Experience with in a service‑oriented or operationally driven environment preferred
- ERP/accounting system experience required;
Microsoft Dynamics a plus - Strong Excel and financial analysis skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and strong business partnership mindset
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail
