Accounts Payable Clerk

Location: Avon

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support day-to-day payment operations for a Contract position based in Avon, Massachusetts. This role is fully onsite and offers an opportunity to contribute to an organized finance function by managing invoice flow, maintaining accurate records, and helping ensure timely vendor payments. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable handling routine accounting tasks, and able to work effectively in a structured weekday schedule.

Responsibilities:

- Review incoming invoices for completeness, assign the appropriate accounting codes, and prepare them for accurate entry into the payable system.

- Process a steady volume of vendor invoices while maintaining organized documentation and strong attention to detail.

- Support payment activities by assisting with scheduled check runs and helping confirm disbursements are completed on time.

- Reconcile invoice information against supporting records and resolve discrepancies with internal teams or vendors as needed.

- Maintain up-to-date accounts payable files and ensure financial records are entered consistently and accurately.

- Collaborate with finance staff to keep daily payable operations running smoothly in a fully onsite environment. Requirements - Prior experience in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support role.

- Demonstrated ability to code invoices accurately and process payments with minimal errors.

- Hands-on familiarity with check runs and general invoice workflow procedures.

- Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail in handling financial information.

- Ability to manage multiple invoices and deadlines in a fast-paced office setting.

- Proficiency with standard office and accounting software used for payable functions.
