Dover Sherborn Middle School – Dover, Massachusetts Starting Date: Aug 18, 2026
Job DescriptionDover‑Sherborn Middle School is seeking a ten‑month School Guidance Administrative Assistant to begin August 18, 2026. The role will provide support to the Middle School Guidance Department and the Director of Guidance during the school year.
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Associate Degree preferred
- Previous secretarial/administrative assistance experience, preferably in an educational setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to manage a fast‑paced office environment
- Strong computer skills and demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Platform, and SIMS
- Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute
- Ability to work cooperatively with all constituencies within the school community (students, parents, co‑workers, faculty, and administration)
- Enjoys working with middle‑school aged children
- Provide overall secretarial support to the counseling staff
- Serve as the first line of communication and information for the Guidance Office
- Provide back‑up support to the Main Office as needed
- Manage clerical paperwork and data entry for all new student registrations, including additional summer hours (~1× weekly)
- Collaborate with the technology department to manage SIMS reporting data
- Perform office duties to maintain accurate school records, including MCAS and other standardized testing results
- Update, edit, and manage all guidance publications, website, and materials
- Handle daily routine administrative duties: answer incoming calls/emails, sort and distribute mail, date‑stamp departmental mail, prepare correspondence as requested
- Maintain common office areas, update bulletin boards and visual materials
- Maintain office supplies and materials inventory
- Manage counselors’ appointment calendars and the Guidance Conference Room calendar
- Prepare monthly enrollment statistics for the Administration
- Provide clerical support for departmental projects such as curriculum lessons, private school applications, course selection, and high‑school transition
- Maintain confidentiality of all records and information within the Guidance Office and the school
- Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Guidance
Position Type: Full‑time
Hourly Rate: $23.00–$24.00 per hour
