Christopher House, a 150-bed Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center located in Worcester, Massachusetts, is seeking a highly skilled and organized Business Office Assistant to join our team. As a valued member of our financial team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our billing and collection processes.

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Business Office Assistant who can accurately manage and reconcile accounts, handle payment processing, and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and reconcile patient accounts, ensuring accurate and timely billing and collection
  • Process patient payments, insurance claims, and follow up on discrepancies and issues
  • Develop and maintain relationships with patients, family members, insurance companies, and other stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the financial team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Stay up-to-date with changing insurance policies and regulations
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in accounting or finance preferred
  • 5 years of experience in accounts receivable or a related field
  • Prior Nursing Home business office experience strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
