Uncrewed Systems (UxS) is a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division, responsible for unmanned underwater vehicles, unmanned surface vehicles, and autonomy software. The Production Technician II will perform a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical and optical areas.
Duties and Responsibilities- Perform integration, assembly, and testing of new system vehicles and auxiliary equipment from work instructions and assembly drawings.
- Read and understand technical schematics.
- Perform testing and troubleshooting with engineering to identify and correct problems with vehicles and auxiliary equipment.
- Document changes to configuration as appropriate.
- Complete all administrative duties and documentation according to company policies and procedures.
- Use routine computer skills (directory structure, applications) and load software and firmware files to vehicles.
- Assist in preparation for field operations.
- Identify and locate ground faults.
- Perform cable and harness assembly, including re-termination of crimps and connectors.
- Conduct basic troubleshooting and testing using power supplies, DVMs, oscilloscopes, and schematic and wiring diagram interpretation.
- Perform visual inspection of circuit card assemblies, cable and harness assemblies, and product sub‑assemblies.
- Other duties as assigned.
- AA Degree or other 2‑year technical degree in a related discipline and 1 year of related experience, or high school diploma or equivalent and 3 years of related experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a government clearance.
- J-STD soldering certification, or ability to obtain it.
- IPC 610 certification (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies), or ability to obtain it.
- IPC 620 certification (Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies), or ability to obtain it.
- Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License.
May require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds or to lift any weight higher than three feet above the floor level. May encounter extremes of temperature, pollution, humidity, noise, and other environmental factors while collecting data and observing performance of task teams.
