Shift :
Mon-Fri / 11am-8pm
$28-$35 per hour (based on experience)
The Service Writer proactively and reactively coordinates repairs for the fleet. The Service Writer initiates services and repairs by ascertaining performance problems and services requested/required; verifying warranty and service contract coverages; developing estimates; planning technicians (some circumstances), scheduling outside vendors, reviewing and completing repair orders.
Duties and responsibilities
- Schedule, track, and reconcile all in-house & third-party repairs, including communication of status and completion
- Check daily, process and schedule all offsite work relative to outside PM's, break downs and DVIR reported issues.
- Schedule PM services and coordinate equipment routing (with dispatch) to ensure compliance with due dates
- Coordinate and follow-up on outside vendors regularly regarding outstanding scheduled repairs
- Provide proactive repair status and completion updates to dispatch and operations (also done by Shop leadership)
- Develop estimates and communicate immediately 10% variance
- Review, reconcile, modify and finalize repair orders accurately within 24 hours max of completion – direct questions to Foreman and Supervisor where appropriate – primary and secondary responsibility with Shop Managers
- Compiles repair details in repair management software for onsite units and road service trucks.
- Invoice customers at time of closing order>confirm price table accuracy/customer billing information
- Own road-call and breakdown coordination, including repair decisions, vendor dispatch, and follow-up through completion
- Opens warranty claims, tracks & process, follow up on warranty shortages and claims requiring additional information/parts/pictures.
- General:
- Adept and proficient in repair management software and all required Microsoft Suite tools used
- Adept and proficient with all shop related operating procedures, processes and workflows (where applicable)
- Answer incoming calls in a professional manner, return all customer calls prior to close of business each day. Follow up to completion on all inquiries.
- Knowledgeable and supports Safety, ELD & CSA communications with Drivers
- Provide prompt, accurate, detailed and timely flow of all paperwork
- Regular Attendance & Punctuality.
- Provides Professional Interface with Customers – representing Page at all times.
- Communicates with Dispatch, Financial Services & other depts. as necessary
Qualifications
- 3-year experience as a Service Writer
- 1 – year experience specialized knowledge in the heavy-duty equipment field
- High School Diploma; associate degree preferred
- Mechanical/technical knowledge
- Ability to multi-task
- Attention to details
- Self-motivated/team player
- Must pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test and agree to companies drug free workplace policies
- Valid Driver's License, some local travel may be required.
