Summary of Role

We are seeking an Associate Director of 3PL Operations. As an Associate Director for Cold Chain Pharmaceuticals and Radioactive Pharmaceuticals with a focus on 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) Management, your role will involve a range of responsibilities to ensure the safe and efficient handling, storage, and transportation of pharmaceutical products, particularly those requiring temperature control and those classified as radioactive. As the Associate Director, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the end-to-end logistics and supply chain operations for cold chain and radioactive pharmaceuticals.

Your primary focus will be on managing third-party logistics providers to guarantee the integrity and compliance of the supply chain.

This position is based in Massachusetts and requires a presence on-site 3+ days per week, and open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy Development: Develop and implement strategic plans for the cold chain and radioactive pharmaceuticals logistics, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
  • 3PL Management: Select, negotiate contracts with, and manage relationships with third-party logistics providers.
  • Cold Chain Management: Implement and maintain robust processes for the storage, handling, and transportation of temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals.
  • Radioactive Pharmaceuticals Management: Develop and implement procedures for the secure handling, transportation, and storage of radioactive pharmaceuticals in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain quality assurance measures for the entire supply chain, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, including regulatory affairs, quality control, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless coordination across the supply chain.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks related to cold chain and radioactive pharmaceutical logistics.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives in logistics processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize overall performance.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience in pharmaceutical supply chain management with a focus on cold chain and radioactive products.
  • Proven track record in managing 3PL relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical logistics.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • cGMP Knowledge
  • Six Sigma or APICS certifications a plus
