Overview
The Pool Construction Worker plays a critical role in the successful building, installation, and maintenance support of residential and commercial swimming pools. This position involves hands‑on work in preparing sites, assembling pool structures, and ensuring all construction phases meet safety and quality standards.
In addition to core construction responsibilities, this role will help fill key department needs by performing liner measurements, cover measurements, liner tucks, minor repairs, and onsite project checks to ensure pools are progressing properly and meeting customer expectations.
The worker collaborates closely with project managers, engineers, and other construction professionals to deliver pools that meet client specifications and regulatory requirements. Attention to detail, field accuracy, and adherence to timelines are essential to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. Ultimately, this role contributes to creating enjoyable and safe recreational spaces that enhance property value and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, excavating, and setting up necessary equipment and materials
- Assemble and install pool frameworks, including steel rebar, plumbing, and electrical components according to blueprints and specifications
- Operate heavy machinery and hand tools safely and effectively to shape and build pool structures
- Apply concrete, gunite, or other materials to form pool shells, ensuring smooth finishes and structural integrity
- Measure for pool liners and covers to ensure proper fit and installation readiness
- Perform liner tucks, minor repairs, and adjustments as needed to support project completion
- Conduct onsite checks to assess pool progress, identify issues, and report repair or replacement needs
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all safety protocols and comply with local building codes and regulations throughout the construction process
- Assist in the installation of pool features such as tiles, coping, decking, and filtration systems as required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in construction or a related field, preferably with pool construction or concrete work
- Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and technical drawings
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions
- Familiarity with construction tools, machinery, and safety procedures
- Certification in pool construction or concrete application
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators or skid steers
- Knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems related to pool installation
- First aid and OSHA safety training certifications
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Experience measuring for pool liners and safety covers is a plus
