We are seeking a Building Science Field Specialist to support field operations, provide technical expertise, and advance building science practices across residential construction projects. This role focuses on working directly with builders, contractors, and industry partners to improve construction quality, durability, and resilience through hands‑on support, training, and technical guidance.
Position Responsibilities Field Engagement & Technical Support- Partner with builders and contractors on active job sites to provide building science expertise and troubleshooting support
- Address real-world construction challenges and recommend practical solutions
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure aligned technical support across the region
- Deliver building science training programs in field, classroom, and virtual settings
- Educate contractors, builders, and architects on best practices in resilient construction
- Support development and delivery of technical education and certification programs
- Gather insights directly from job sites and customer interactions
- Identify challenges, pain points, and opportunities for product and process improvement
- Communicate findings to internal teams to support innovation and strategy
- Serve as a trusted technical resource for internal and external stakeholders
- Translate field conditions into actionable recommendations
- Support development of construction specifications and standards
- Work closely with territory managers, technical services, and contractor engagement teams
- Support coordination of customer-facing initiatives and technical programs
- Contribute to regional strategy through field expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Building Science, Architecture, Engineering, or related technical field preferred
OR 15+ years of hands‑on residential construction experience - Strong understanding of residential construction practices and building envelope systems
- Experience working directly in field‑based construction environments
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and general digital tools
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% within the assigned region
- BPI (Building Performance Institute) Certification
- RESNET Certification
- HERS Rater Certification
- LEED Accreditation
- Other building science or energy efficiency certifications
- Competitive salary range of $92,000 – $142,000 annually
