Plumbing / HVAC Estimator

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Plumbing / HVAC Estimator to join a growing mechanical construction team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial, industrial, and public construction projects. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, the ability to interpret construction documents, and a collaborative approach to working with project managers, vendors, and field teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope and requirements.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs using estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
• Solicit, evaluate, and compare vendor and subcontractor quotations.
• Prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates and complete bid proposals.
• Participate in estimating strategy meetings and bid reviews.
• Collaborate with project managers, operations personnel, and field leadership to ensure project constructability and scheduling considerations.
• Support bid-day activities, proposal submissions, and documentation.
• Maintain organized estimating records and assist with continuous process improvements.
• Stay informed of industry trends, material pricing, and construction best practices.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating commercial or industrial plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical construction projects preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents, or willingness to learn.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Experience with estimating software is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Preferred Experience

• Three or more years of estimating experience in commercial or industrial plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical construction.
• Field experience in plumbing or HVAC with a desire to transition into estimating is highly valued.
• Familiarity with commercial construction bidding processes and project documentation.
