After School Digital Arts & Photography Teacher; Grades 4

Position Description

Wellan Montessori School is seeking an enthusiastic and creative After School Digital Arts and Photography Teacher to lead an engaging enrichment program for students in grades 4–8. This role is perfect for a practicing visual artist, educator, or creative professional who loves inspiring young minds through modern media. This is a semester-long position. Classes typically meet once per week between the hours of 3:00 - 4:30 PM, including prep and clean up.

Our teaching rate starts at $45 an hour.

• Develop and deliver a hands‑on, age‑appropriate curriculum covering the fundamentals of digital photography, photo editing, and digital art techniques.
• Guide middle‑grade students in exploring creative expression using cameras, tablets, or design software.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and structured after‑school classroom environment.
• Foster collaboration, critical thinking, and confidence through artistic projects.

• Background in Visual Arts, Digital Media, Photography, or a related creative field.
• Experience teaching or working with upper elementary and middle school‑aged children (Grades 4–8).
• Strong communication skills and a passion for working in a collaborative, child‑centered environment (Montessori familiarity is a plus, but not required).
