Drama Club Advisor

Job Description

JOB GOAL:
Supervise extracurricular program. Direct at least one main stage, student‑run, production each year.

• Organize students into an extracurricular team.
• Coordinate the rental of, and transportation to, a stage for the performance and the use of shared spaces for rehearsal and set construction; scheduled with custodial staff.
• Order scripts, props, set items, and costumes through the drama club activities account.
• Keep in touch with the larger theatrical community.
• Plan, cast, direct, stage, and strike a main‑stage dramatic production.
• Teach elements of production and organize student technical leadership.
• Keep an updated inventory of drama club items (props, costumes, set pieces, etc.).
• Build on and extend student talent and interest.
• Teach process of production and monitor student progress and deadlines.
• Monitor costs, and fundraise throughout the year; program should generate its own income.
• Follow through on strike and clean up in a very timely fashion.
• Conduct student meetings to foster leadership.
• Organize at least one Monologue Night/One‑Act Play, talent show, etc., depending on student interest.
• Conduct interviews to select student directors.
• Support student directors; mentor them in the facets of production and monitoring their progress, handling the cast, drama club property, and rental spaces.
• Maintain financial solvency through collaboration with Central Office Student Activities Account.
• Attend and supervise the play to assist with stage production and oversee any fundraisers during the play.
• Coordinate with parent volunteers for fundraising events and help on play night.

• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
