Becket-Chimney Corners YMCA, a premier overnight camp in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts, is seeking Camp Medical Advisors (MA) to join our healthcare leadership team for Summer 2026.

This is a unique opportunity to practice medicine in a collaborative, well-supported camp setting while becoming an integral part of a vibrant camp community.

Position Overview

The Camp Medical Advisor (MA) provides medical oversight for all Becket-Chimney Corners YMCA programs in consultation with the Healthcare Consultant and other Medical Advisors and is supervised by the Chief Program Officer. The MAs will work closely with Camp Nurses (Licensed Medical Professionals) assigned to each camp health center and serve as a key point of consultation and escalation for medical concerns requiring advanced clinical support.

You will be part of a collaborative healthcare team that includes other Medical Advisors, Camp Nurses/Licensed Medical Professionals (LMPs), Health Care Assistants (HCAs), and a Medical Office Manager (MOM). This role combines clinical leadership with hands‑on engagement in a dynamic camp environment.

Priority will be given to candidates who can live on site and commit to the full summer season (June 20–August 21, 2026).

Responsibilities
  • Provide medical oversight to ensure healthcare services align with camp policies, healthcare protocols, and state regulations.
  • Serve as a point of escalation and clinical resource for Camp Nurses and healthcare staff at each health center.
  • Visit each camp health center as scheduled and hold clinic hours at both sites with approximately 1-2 hours of clinic hours at each camp daily for 2-6 hours of coverage each day. Serve in an on‑call capacity as scheduled.
  • Provide consultation, prescribe medications, and offer additional clinical care as needed by the healthcare staff.
  • Collaborate with the Healthcare Consultant as needed on complex or higher-level medical concerns.
  • Support a calm, professional, and team‑oriented healthcare environment for campers and staff
