Job Description:
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide instruction for Dental Hygiene III (DEN
230) to dental hygiene students in the Fall 2026 semester. This 2-credit course emphasizes evidence-based research and case-based learning to integrate elements of theory, knowledge, and research into patient care. Students explore a deeper level of published research and complete a research project. Students apply accumulated knowledge to plan and manage care for a variety of patients utilizing risk assessment and the dental hygiene process of care.
An exploration into dental specialty practices will be provided, focusing on the hygienist's role in each specialty.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Massachusetts Dental / Dental Hygiene License.
* Demonstrated teaching experience.
* Earned Master's Degree in dental hygiene or related field or Dental Degree.
* Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
ADDITIONAL
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Previous experience teaching didactic/lecture courses.
* Previous experience teaching in a community college setting.
* Evidence of current teaching methodologies, including experiences with media, innovative use of evolving instructional technologies in the classroom, and the use of learning management systems such as Moodle.
* Skill in implementing active and collaborative learning strategies.

COMPENSATION:
Anticipated starting salary - Step I DCE Pay Scale (currently $3,024 for 2-credit course). Part-time, non-benefited, DCE/MCCC Unit Position.
