Luci Gold is an innovative metal fabrication facility that focuses on creative solutions for the Architectural, Commercial & OEM Construction projects. We specialize in precision cutting, bending, welding, and assembly. We are looking for an experienced CAD Designer to bridge the gap between our clients' visions and our shop floor production.
The CAD Designer will transform client requirements, sketches, and customer-supplied Ideas into precise 3D models and 2D fabrication shop drawings. The ideal candidate ensures all designs incorporate Design for Manufacturing (DFM) best practices and generates necessary digital files (DXF/STEP) for automated CNC equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Design & Drafting
- Create detailed 3D models and 2D flat patterns using [Autodesk Inventor / AutoCAD Design Software].
- Generate layout, assembly, and weld maps for welders and shop personnel.
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and conduct tolerance stack-ups to ensure parts fit together accurately on the assembly floor.
- Education:
Associate's degree in CAD Technology, Drafting, or a related technical field (or equivalent combination of education and experience) OR current student studying CAD Technology. - Experience:
[e.g., 2–5] years of mechanical drafting/design experience directly within the sheet metal or structural metal fabrication industry. - Software:
Advanced proficiency in [Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Solid Works]. Familiarity with CAM software is preferred but not required. - Knowledge Base:
Strong understanding of metal properties (steel, aluminum, stainless), bend allowances, welding symbols, and various manufacturing techniques. - Soft Skills:
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Generate flat pattern DXF files and CNC programs for laser cutting.
- Prepare nest files and programs for press brakes and other forming machinery.
- Create and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routing operations for the company’s ERP/MRP system.
