Honey Collins Interiors is a boutique, high-end residential interior design firm seeking a talented, highly organized, and motivated Design Assistant to join our growing team. This is a full-time, in-office position based in our Boston/ Manchester-by-the-Sea studio. This is a hands-on opportunity to work closely with Honey and our design team across all phases of high-end residential projects, from initial concept and sourcing through installation.
We are looking for someone who genuinely loves design, has a strong eye, and is eager to learn and grow within a busy, collaborative studio. The ideal candidate is organized, resourceful, proactive, and comfortable balancing the creative side of design with the attention to detail and follow-through required to bring a project to life.
- Support the design team throughout all phases of residential projects, from concept through installation
- Source furniture, lighting, fabrics, wallpaper, antiques, art, accessories, tile, stone, hardware, and finishes
- Prepare client presentations, design boards, material palettes, and materials for meetings and site visits
- Assist with AutoCAD floor plans, elevations, and other project drawings
- Assist with the development of custom furniture, upholstery, window treatments, cabinetry, and millwork
- Visit local showrooms to source and pull fabrics, memos, and finish samples
- Coordinate with vendors, showrooms, workrooms, artisans, and trades to obtain samples, pricing, lead times, and product information
- Follow up on open items and communicate project updates to the design team
- Maintain project specifications, sourcing lists, schedules, and design documentation
- Attend client, architect, contractor, and vendor meetings; take detailed notes and follow up on action items
- Assist with the organization of the studio's fabric, finish, and sample libraries
