E. Small Elementary School is seeking a visionary Principal to lead our community of approximately 300 early learners in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade
3. True to our name, we pride ourselves on maintaining a tight-knit "small school" atmosphere where every student is known, valued, and celebrated.
We are looking for a leader who champions equity, family engagement, and academic excellence. As a Title I school, M.E. Small is deeply committed to ensuring every child—regardless of background—has access to high-quality instruction and a supportive environment. Our school is a place where data-driven instruction meets whole-child.
As part of the Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School District, we combine the resources of a robust regional district with the warmth of a neighborhood school. Our culture is anchored in "The Dolphin Way": empowering students to be Respectful, Responsible, Ready, Caring, and Safe. We are a diverse and inclusive community that views our variety of backgrounds and languages as our greatest strength.
Our District's improvement strategy is anchored in a five-year strategic plan and we are grounded in five core values of Excellence, Equity, Dignity, Community and Integrity.
The incoming Principal will inherit a dedicated team of educators who are passionate about early literacy, social-emotional learning, and closing opportunity gaps. You will work minutes from the beaches of Cape Cod, supported by a collaborative district leadership team that values innovation.
The successful applicant will have a coherent vision of high quality teaching and learning and the ability to foster a climate that demands both. We are looking for an educational leader who is able to create the conditions that ensure effective teaching in every classroom, every day including a commitment to supporting the needs of all students and an appreciation of the diversity of the families in our community.
While management of the building is a given for any successful Principal, we are seeking an expert in teaching, curriculum, and assessment. In addition, the principal has the task of leading the school in its efforts to achieve its mission, supervise and evaluate assigned staff, take lead responsibility for designated school functions, support families as partners, and maintain an overall environment that promotes student development.
The Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School District has successfully entered the Eligibility Period of the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) program and eager to take the next steps toward securing funding for much-needed improvements to Marguerite
E. Small and providing a state-of-the-art learning environment for our students.
