Science Teacher, High School
Eagle Hill School seeks a science teacher to join our faculty for the school year. The successful candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM field and will be able to teach Biology and Physical Science/Conceptual Physics at the high school level. While not a requirement for this position, the ability to teach in other related scientific subjects (such as Chemistry) is desirable.
As a boarding school, Eagle Hill School sees great value both in classroom instruction and in the shared life of the campus. In addition to teaching duties, modest evening and weekend duties (e.g., advising a club or activity, coaching, supervision of shared spaces) are required of all academic and student life faculty.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies to motivate and inspire students in STEM fields.
- Incorporate technology and other resources to enhance student learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to continually revise and implement the curriculum to adjust to diverse learners.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues about student progress.
- Engage in the boarding school community and co-curricular programs as well as provide inspirational and innovative education in the classroom setting.
- Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in a STEM discipline.
- Readiness to teach basic and advanced courses in the science department.
- Support students as they solve problems and think critically.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
