Job Description

We are seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Vocational High School Plumbing Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plumbing, HVAC or Facilities Engineering and a commitment to teaching students practical skills and knowledge that will prepare them for successful careers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Development:
    Design and implement a comprehensive plumbing curriculum that aligns with MA DESE standards and incorporates hands‑on training and real‑world applications.
  • Instruction:
    Deliver engaging and effective instruction in plumbing concepts, including installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, codes, safety practices, and relevant technologies.
  • Assessment:
    Develop and administer assessments to evaluate student understanding and practical skills, providing constructive feedback to support their growth.
  • Classroom and Lab Management:
    Establish and maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
  • Collaboration:

    Work closely with other vocational program instructors to integrate plumbing skills into broader vocational training and ensure students receive a well‑rounded education.
  • Professional Development:
    Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance instructional practices and stay updated on industry trends and best practices in plumbing.
  • Parent and Community Engagement:
    Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and foster relationships with local plumbing businesses and organizations to support student learning and job placement.
  • Advisory Role:
    Act as a mentor or advisor to students, assisting them with academic challenges and guiding them in career exploration and job readiness.
Job Requirements
  • Licensure: Valid MA DESE licensure or licensable in Vocational Education for Plumbing, HVAC or Facilities Management.
  • Experience: Previous teaching experience in a vocational setting, particularly in plumbing, HVAC or facilities management is highly desirable. 5 years industry experience.
  • Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; proficiency in using technology for instruction and assessment.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
    • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
    • Strong collaboration skills for working effectively with students, faculty, and the community.
  • Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job as they directly affect student academic outcomes and the overall operation of the building.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
