Located in Greater Boston, Mass Bay is a comprehensive, open-access community college, offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.

Position Summary:

The ideal candidate will join a vibrant educational community and have a desire and ability to serve a population of students with various needs and backgrounds. The Coordinator of New Student Experience serves as the architect of the new student journey, providing the continuity that transforms a series of onboarding steps into a genuine sense of belonging. From a student's first step into the pre-registration orientation (Ready2

Register session) through the end of their first year at Mass Bay, this role ensures the experience is cohesive, intentional, and welcoming.

Reporting to the Dean of Students and/or Designee, the Coordinator leads the vision and implementation of Ready2

Register, oversees the student leader Peer Navigator, carries an advising caseload of students, and develops programming that supports new student success through their first year. This role works collaboratively across Student Development to ensure every new student feels connected to the college from day one.

Key

Responsibilities and Duties:

Program Coordination & Development

* Leads the vision and ongoing development of Ready2

Register, ensuring program curriculum remains current, effective, and engaging;

* Oversee implementation and quality of Ready2

Register sessions facilitated by Peer Navigators;

* Design, implement, and assess programming that supports new student transition, belonging, and success across the first year;

* Collaborate with Student Engagement on orientation programming, including the kickoff event, to ensure a seamless and connected new student experience;

* Coordinate family orientation and family engagement programming;

* Identify gaps in the new student experience through data, Peer Navigator feedback, and advisor input, and develop responsive programming to address them;

* Maintain and update New Student Programs webpages to ensure content is current, accurate, and student-facing;

Student Advising & Support

* Perform academic advisement to an assigned caseload of new students, including international students (i.e.

- advise students on course selection, program requirements, college policies, and transition issues;

* Refer students to appropriate offices and outside agencies as needed;

* Monitor academic progress and initiate outreach for students who have not connected with appropriate support;

* Coordinate with the Designated School Official for international students as appropriate;

* Coordinate provision of academic support services to assist new students in connecting to advising, campus resources, and the broader college community;

* Participate in early alert and retention initiatives in coordination with advising and student affairs colleagues;

Peer Navigator Supervision

* Coordinate the student leadership Peer Navigator program (i.e.

- recruit, hire, train, instruct, and evaluate Peer Navigators; instruct assigned staff in performance of duties according to established standards;

* Plan the work of others and allocate personnel; prioritize, assign, review, and coordinate work; assist with complex or problem situations and provide direction;

* Respond to employee issues and concerns; interview and recommend selection of new employees;

* Coordinate Peer Navigator involvement in Ready2

Register sessions and new student onboarding activities throughout the academic year;

* Collaborate with advising staff to ensure Peer Navigators are meaningfully integrated into student outreach;

Administration & Institutional Contribution

* Perform administrative tasks associated with department activities (i.e.

- maintain student files, notes, and contact logs documenting student advisement and program interactions;

* Prepare program reports, summaries, and documentation; assist with divisional programs and initiatives as needed;

* Responsible for tracking and assessing new student and orientation attendance numbers, registration numbers, and how orientation affects retention; use data to inform continuous program improvement;

* Prepare and manage the New Student Programs budget, including monitoring expenditures and assisting in budget development;

* Interact with various agencies, individuals, and faculty (i.e.
