Position: PreK & Kindergarten Art Teacher & Extended Day Program (EDP) Teacher
Location: Dover

Charles River School is a unique, inclusive independent PreK-8 school in Dover, MA, which is just 16 miles west of Boston. We are seeking an early childhood art teacher to teach PreK & Kindergarten art classes in the afternoon. In addition to planning and teaching art classes for specific grade levels, the art teacher will also teach in our after-school program. Our Extended Day Program teachers work together to create a warm, caring community for our students, facilitating activities such as arts and crafts, outdoor play, and homework.

This is a part‑time position with hours of 1:00–6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday during the school year.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Plan and teach two sections each for Pre Kindergarten and Kindergarten art
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate the curriculum
  • Writing bi-annual student reports or conference notes
  • Work with the Director of Extended Day Programs and Camp Operations Director to
    • plan activities and after-school classes for children from PreK through Grade 8
    • maintain accurate registration and attendance records
    • manage the logistics of students who ride our daily 4:30 school bus
    • facilitate arts and crafts, outdoor play, and other enrichment activities
    • supervise students throughout the duration of the program

  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion
  • Experience working with children between the ages of 4 and 14
  • Experience with implementing developmentally appropriate art activities to young children
