English Teacher

This full-time English teaching position will have ongoing contact with and direct responsibility for the academic and social life of students on campus (in loco parentis), and will involve specific responsibilities that include coaching or other afternoon program involvement, possible residential life duty, and student advising. With Teaching Faculty status comes the expectation of total involvement in the lives of students on campus.

Housing may or may not be available.

• Teach 4 sections of English with emphasis on teaching writing.
• Two seasons of the Afternoon Program.
• Residential Life Program: dorm parenting or equivalent.
• Serve as an advisor to students.

• B.A. required, master’s level preferred.
• 3+ years teaching experience preferred.
• Experience in coaching and/or playing interscholastic athletics, directing, and/or experience on stage in the performing arts preferred.
• Must be able to work collegially.
• Committed to working in a diverse community; experience working and communicating with diverse populations.
• Enjoy working with young people in a boarding school environment.
• Valid driver’s license.
