Responsibilities:

* Must have knowledge of current Massachusetts Frameworks.

* Effectively collaborate with colleagues on curriculum, lesson and assessment design as well as achieving departmental goals.

* Plan and implement informative and engaging art courses which draw upon many learning styles

* Develop lessons with clear and measurable outcomes.

* Use of a wide variety of teaching techniques to support student learning.

* Design and demonstrate differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all students.

* Implement accommodations and curricular modifications as specified in educational plans (IEPs) and as needed to meet the learning needs of students.

* Utilize best practices for assessing student progress toward achievement of standard.

* Use a variety of formal and informal assessments to accurately measure student progress toward and to modify further instruction.

* Foster artistic development in novice and advanced students

* Communicate clearly and present problems to invoke independent thinking and personal expression, as well as well-planned lessons

* Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

* A valid Massachusetts Department of Education Educator's license in Visual Arts

* Strong and versatile academic background in Visual Arts

* Successful experience as a classroom teacher preferred

* Good communication and interpersonal skills

* Willingness to contribute to student life beyond the classroom

* Must be able to pass CORI and fingerprint-based state and national criminal background tests
