Webster Public Schools is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Grade 8 Teacher at Webster Middle School. To create a flexible elementary grade program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with pupils; to motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for elementary grade education, in accordance with each student's ability;

to establish good relationships with parents and with other staff members.

• Develop lesson plans and instructional material and provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
• Communicate regularly with parents by means of newsletters, notes, phone calls, conferences, etc.
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.
• Identify student needs and make appropriate referrals and develop strategies for individual education plans working with the assistance of district specialists as appropriate.
• Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes.
• Plan and coordinate the work of educational technology staff and volunteers in the classroom and on field trips.
• Provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of the student.
• Create an environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, interest centers, and exhibits of students' work.
• Assess and evaluate the accomplishments of students' academic and social growth and keep appropriate records and provide progress reports as requested.

• Supervise classroom and students and volunteers with assistance, advice and support from administration.

DESE Certified. All candidates must hold an appropriate Massachusetts Licensure.

The Webster Middle School services Webster's public school children from grades five through eight. Our mission is to provide a caring and supportive learning environment which teaches our students to be literate, think critically, access resources, and be responsible.
