Job DescriptionWebster Public Schools is seeking qualified candidates for the position of ELL Teacher at Webster Middle School.
To create a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth, establish effective rapport with pupils, motivate students to develop the skills, attitudes, and knowledge necessary to provide a good foundation for middle school grade education in accordance with each student's ability, and build strong relationships with parents and other staff members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned)- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
- Communicate regularly with parents through newsletters, notes, phone calls, conferences, etc.
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.
- Identify student needs, make appropriate referrals, and develop strategies for individual education plans working with district specialists as appropriate.
- Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes.
- Plan and coordinate the work of educational technicians and volunteers in the classroom and on field trips.
- Create an environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, interest centers, and exhibits of student work.
- Assess and evaluate the academic and social growth of students, maintain records, and provide progress reports as requested.
Supervise classroom and students, and volunteers with assistance, advice, and support from administration.
Job Requirements- Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, case management, curriculum planning, writing lesson plans, supervising paraprofessional staff, and administering educational assessments.
- All candidates must hold an appropriate Massachusetts licensure.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
- DESE Certified.
