Adjunct Lecturer, Sport and Recreation Management

Job Description:

The Curry College Business Management Department invites applicants for a part-time Adjunct Lecturer in Sport and Recreation Management. Successful candidates will demonstrate subject matter expertise in the field of sport and recreation management, evidence of teaching excellence, skill in engaging students through active and experiential learning, competent use of instructional technology, and exceptional oral and written communication skills.

Courses may include:
Introduction to Sport and Recreation Management, Sport and Society, Sport Marketing and Promotion, Sport Leadership and Strategy, Sport and Recreation Governance and Policy, Sport and Recreation Legal Studies, Sport Sponsorship and Sales or Sport Finance.

This role requires candidates to have the ability to teach undergraduate students in-person, at our Milton, Massachusetts campus.

Part-time faculty are responsible for planning and presenting the material assigned for their courses; establishing specific requirements and informing students of the requirements; grading examinations and projects; submitting grades and early alerts in a timely fashion; explaining grades to students; and utilizing Canvas as the learning management system. Part-time faculty are expected to be available to interact electronically with students outside the classroom as well as to hold requisite office hours.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Master's degree in Sport Management, Recreation Administration, or a closely related field;
  • At least 2 years of professional experience working in the field of sport and recreation management is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year teaching experience in higher education.

$3,735 per 3 credit course

Eligibility for promotion to Lecturer and an increased rate of compensation are negotiated between the College and the Curry College AAUP.
