Job Description

Join our dynamic after-school enrichment team and inspire K-5 students through creative, hands‑on learning experiences! We’re looking for individuals who thrive in fast‑paced, interactive environments and are ready to design engaging curricula, lead group activities, and foster participant growth and development.

Position Details

  • Type:
    Part-time for the  school year (while school is in session, end of August - mid‑June)
  • Schedule:

    Monday‑Friday, 2:30-5:30 PM or 3:00-6:00 PM (11:30 AM-6:00 PM on 2 early dismissal days)
Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise, manage, and support large groups of children during transitions in and out of the program.
  • Plan and conduct daily enrichment activities, such as homework assistance, physical activities, arts and crafts, STEM projects, group work, and other activities as determined by the site supervisor.
  • Design and teach a weekly "Club" focusing on a personal interest that the students share, subject to approval.
  • Provide documented lesson plans for all activities and "Club" curriculum.
  • Supervise and encourage pro‑social behaviors in an after‑school setting.
  • Actively participate in the program’s incentive program.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive, inclusive environment.
  • Communicate consistently with supervisors and staff regarding any issues.
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings and training opportunities.
  • Present a professional and friendly demeanor.
  • Demonstrate initiative and teamwork.
  • Required to attend and participate in employee trainings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
  • High School Education;
    Associate's Degree (Preferred, related fields:
    Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Human Services, Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, the Arts) but not required.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with children aged 5-10 years in a camp, after-school, and/or classroom setting.
  • Preferred experience with children from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds, as well as children with special needs.
  • Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
  • All prospective staff must undergo background checks and be fingerprinted.
  • Physical Demands:
    Must be able to sit, talk, walk, hear, run during play or emergency; engage with children at eye level; use hands and arms for handling objects; vision required for supervision; reasonable accommodations possible.
  • Work Environment:
    Moderate to very loud; indoor classrooms and outdoor playgrounds; reasonable accommodations possible.
  • Salary:
    Compensation competitive; starting $25.75/hour.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Associate degree preferred.
