Dual Language Spanish Language Arts Teacher

Position Summary: The Dual Language Spanish Language Arts/World Language Teacher serves as an educator and instructional leader, delivering high-quality instruction to ensure all students achieve academic proficiency. This role supports the development of the whole child by supporting academic, social‑emotional, and mental health needs.

  • Valid Massachusetts Teaching License (Spanish Grades 5‑12) and Bilingual Endorsement

  • Educational Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education or related field (Master’s preferred).

    Proven track record of delivering high-quality instruction and managing a diverse classroom environment in a school district.
  • Language Proficiency: Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
Skills and Ability
  • Differentiated Instruction: Design and implement Tier 1 and Tier 2 interventions for students with IEPs, 504 plans, and ELLs.
  • Data‑Driven Decision Making: Analyze standardized and formative assessment data (MCAS, i‑Ready, unit assessments) to track growth.
  • Social‑Emotional Learning: Integrate SEL frameworks to foster a safe, inclusive, trauma‑informed environment.
  • Content Pedagogy & Foundational

    Skills:

    Apply evidence‑based practices to ensure mastery of core concepts.
  • Restorative Practices: Use restorative justice and conflict transformation techniques.
  • Curriculum Alignment: Align lesson plans with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and district goals.
  • Adaptive Technology Integration: Use Google Classroom, interactive whiteboards, educational software.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Work within PLCs and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Cultural Proficiency: Foster equity and inclusion for all stakeholders.
  • Professionalism & Composure: Maintain punctual attendance and respond calmly to high‑stakes situations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities I. Planning, Preparation, and Instruction
  • Design comprehensive program of study and lesson plans aligned with state and district goals.
  • Deliver high‑quality instruction using research‑based practices (Disciplinary Literacy, Science of Reading, inquiry‑based learning).
  • Use Universal Design for Learning to support diverse learners.
  • Implement Tier 1 and Tier 2 interventions for students with IEPs, 504 plans, and ELLs.
  • Leverage interactive technology and adaptive tools to enhance engagement.
II. Classroom Environment and Management
  • Create a safe, inclusive, culturally responsive classroom that honors student identity.
  • Establish routines and use restorative justice to resolve conflicts.
  • Make the learning space physically, emotionally, and academically accessible.
  • Develop clear procedures that empower student ownership of behavior.
III. Assessment and Data‑Informed Practice
  • Implement balanced formative and summative assessments.
  • Analyze local and standardized data to identify gaps and adjust instruction.
  • Provide timely, growth‑oriented feedback.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records.
IV. Communication and Collaboration
  • Consult with students, families, and community partners.
  • Participate in PLCs and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Communicate progress and challenges clearly, ensuring language accessibility.
  • Collaborate with administration on school‑wide initiatives.
V. Professional Responsibilities and Development
  • Engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Participate in staff meetings, committees, and extracurricular activities as needed.
  • Supervise educational support staff and volunteers.

Other Duties: Assigned as needed.
