Pine Hill Elementary School (Sherborn) seeks a long-term substitute teacher to teach Grade 4, beginning on August 31, 2026, for a duration of 4 months.
We seek a certified elementary educator who values and respects children and who is a strong collaborator, independent thinker, and reflective practitioner. The teacher will implement the Grade 4 curriculum, refine instructional plans to address student needs, design individual and small group interventions, and include students with special education and ELL needs. The teacher will maintain a classroom community grounded in mutual respect, positive relationships, and effective motivation and management for learning.
A successful candidate will have a degree in education, Massachusetts licensure in elementary education, SEI endorsement, and experience implementing the readers/writers workshop model and an inquiry‑based approach to science. Additional responsibilities include communication with families, participation in faculty and grade‑level team meetings, completion of report cards, and conducting parent/guardian conferences.

Qualifications- Current elementary 1‑6 licensure or PreK‑2 licensure
- Knowledge of elementary pedagogy and best practices
- Effective classroom management skills
- Organizational skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to form positive relationships and convey a sense of caring and respect for others
- At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred
- Master’s degree preferred
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
