Job DescriptionPioneer Valley Regional School seeks a High School Chemistry and Physics Teacher

The successful candidate will:
- Teach high school chemistry and high school physics
- Opportunity to teach other high school electives, AP Chemistry, or AP Physics in the future
- Design engaging laboratory and inquiry‑based learning experiences
- Build a structured, inclusive, and academically focused classroom environment
- Support students with a range of academic backgrounds and learning needs
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum, instruction, and student support
With 240+ students in Grades 7-12, PVRS is a small, rural school in Western Massachusetts with a close‑knit community and a commitment to academic excellence. The school values innovative instruction, collaborative problem‑solving, and student‑centered learning. Teachers have the ability to build strong relationships with students and work closely with colleagues across disciplines.
Our school's impressive array of arts, athletics, and academic programming belies its small size. We have a campus with 95 acres, the largest of any public school district in the state, which features hiking and mountain biking trails, an ecology pond, and a federally‑certified vernal pool.
The anticipated salary range for this position may be found in the salary grid for the Pioneer Valley Regional Education Association.

- Massachusetts DESE licensure in Physics (8‑12) or an appropriate related field
- Strong content knowledge in chemistry and/or physics
- Strong classroom management and relationship‑building skills
- Commitment to equitable and inclusive instructional practices
- Experience with project‑based learning, inquiry‑based science instruction, engineering, or interdisciplinary collaboration preferred
- Experience teaching laboratory science preferred
- At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred
- Master degree preferred
