Job Description- Plan, develop, and implement instructional experiences that promote educational growth and development of targeted students.
- Use effective classroom presentation techniques and review, correct, and reinforce lessons to enhance learning and retention.
- Implement testing and assessment to confirm achievement levels.
- Apply classroom management, discipline, and behavior reinforcement strategies.
- Employ techniques to promote cognitive development.
- Identify and refer students who require Special Education services.
- Ensure equal educational opportunity for all students regardless of race, color, gender, age, religion, national origin, gender identity, marital status, sexual orientation, disability, or homelessness.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
- Stay current with curriculum content, and plan and assess curriculum and instruction.
- Mentor students in understanding of the curriculum and adjust instruction, materials, or assessments as appropriate.
- Manage classroom environment effectively.
- Set clear learning goals and use appropriate instructional and questioning techniques.
- Use innovative approaches and instructional strategies, including technologies, to increase student learning and confidence.
- Promote high standards and expectations for student achievement.
- Promote equity and appreciation of diversity for students with special needs, 504 plans, and second‑language learners.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Massachusetts Licensure as an ESL teacher.
- SEI Endorsement or dual licensure.
- Advanced education in ESL methodology.
- Experience in bilingual/bicultural education and second‑language acquisition.
- Experience supporting students with special needs.
- Ability to speak Albanian, Arabic, Nepali, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese, or an African language.
- Demonstrated experience with second‑language acquisition.
