Science Teacher – Chemistry & Marine Science

Full‑time, benefitted position for the 2026–2027 school year in the Science Department. Reports to the Science Department Chairperson.

Five sections: two ACP Chemistry, one CP Marine Science, and two CP Chemistry.

• ACP Chemistry – an advanced college‑preparatory course covering atomic structure, chemical bonding, stoichiometry, thermodynamics, kinetics, and equilibrium, with accelerated lab work and scientific reasoning.
• CP Chemistry – a foundational college‑preparatory course on matter, energy, the periodic table, chemical reactions, and solutions, emphasizing laboratory investigation, data analysis, and real‑world application.
• CP Marine Science – an introductory course exploring marine ecosystems, oceanography, coastal geology, and marine biology, featuring lab work, field investigations, and current environmental topics.

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards‑aligned instruction for all five sections.
• Differentiated instruction to meet the needs of ACP and CP learners.
• Design, conduct, and supervise hands‑on laboratory activities with proper safety protocols.
• Develop and administer assessments; maintain accurate grade records.
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Participate in department meetings, professional development, and school committees.
• Maintain an organized, safe, and welcoming classroom environment.
• Collaborate with the department chair on curriculum alignment and scope/sequence.

• Massachusetts licensure (or eligibility) in Science — Chemistry or General Science.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Marine Science, Biology, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to teach at multiple levels (ACP and CP).
• Experience with laboratory safety and hands‑on science instruction.

• Prior experience teaching Chemistry and/or Marine Science at the secondary level.
• Familiarity with standards‑based grading and curriculum mapping.
• Experience working with diverse learners in a college‑preparatory setting.
