Position:
Special Needs Assistant to Millis Public Schools Extended Day Program. The role works during school and after school hours to build the capacity of the extended day community to support and intervene with students experiencing behavioral dysregulation.
Based on the needs of the children. Options include Monday‑Friday 9:30‑5:30 or as few as two days per week 2:45‑5:45.
Responsibilities- Model and manage positive behavior support approaches.
- Support staff members in addressing the needs of children with ASD.
- Implement supports for students with learning differences, including individualized program access care.
- Train and support staff to manage behavioral situations.
- Design, develop and implement behavioral interventions in conjunction with the program’s Behavior Consultant.
- Maintain appropriate records and provide guidance to other staff in the implementation of behavioral interventions.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as designated by the Director of Extended Day Programs.
- At least 2 years of experience as a behavior interventionist/counselor.
- ABA or RBT certification preferred.
- Expertise in Emotional Behavioral Disabilities (EBD) and knowledge of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
- Knowledge and ability to implement physical management training (Safety Care training preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa in the United States required.
Part‑time (potential for full‑time).
Salary$25 to $32 per hour.
