Position: Chemistry Instructor, Fundamentals of Chemistry - Cape Cod Community College

Job Description:

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Department of Science is seeking part-time Instructor to teach Fundamentals of Chemistry (CHM-111) 4-credit course which includes a lab for the Fall 2026 semester. This includes preparing and presenting lectures, leading and facilitating classroom discussions, and evaluating and grading student performance while maintaining a focus on pursuing equitable student outcomes.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

* Provide instruction in both traditional and non-traditional learning modes.

* Select and develop appropriate materials for class use.

* Maintain appropriate attendance and learner records.

* Track and assess student progress based on quizzes, exams, and assignments.

* Set up pre-determined labs with provided supplies.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

* Master's degree in Chemistry, or related Chemistry field.

* Experience teaching freshman and sophomore level chemistry courses, preferably in a community college setting.

* Commitment to the community college philosophy.

* Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working with students and colleagues.

* Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

COMPENSATION:

Anticipated staring salary - Step 1 DCE pay scale (currently $4,536 for 3-credit course plus $1,119 for 1-credit lab)

Part-time, non-benefitted MCCC/DCE Unit position
