The Athol‑Royalston Regional School District is looking for a Special Education Teacher at Athol High School. Licensed candidates and those who may qualify for the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) licenses are encouraged to apply.

Successful candidates must be committed to helping students find academic, social, and emotional success in an inclusive setting. The ideal candidate will create equitable, challenging, and rigorous lessons focusing on growth.

Starting Salary Range is $53,877-$95,344, commensurate with degree and years of experience. All interested candidates are encouraged to apply. This full‑time position will begin for the start of the  school year.

Athol is a manufacturing community, 11 miles south of New Hampshire and 75 miles west of Boston. Athol High School is located on the Southeast side of Athol at the junctions of Routes 2A (Main Street) and 32 on the shores of Lake Ellis. Athol High School, a comprehensive regional high school for grades 9, 10, 11 and 12, presently enrolls 500 students.

Eighty‑eight percent of the district’s students reside in Athol, 9% reside in Royalston and 3% are school choice students. Students can also attend Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School located 25 miles to the east in Fitchburg. The population of Athol is 11,299 and Royalston’s population is 1,254 according to the 2000 federal census.
