Kindergarten Teacher

Qualifications (Preferred)
  • Bachelor’s Degree required;
    Master’s Degree preferred
  • Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) license in Early Childhood:
    Teacher of Students With and Without Disabilities (PreK–2)
  • Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement required for core academic teachers in Massachusetts
  • Knowledge of child development and early literacy instruction
  • Experience with differentiated instruction and inclusive classroom practices preferred
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
  • Commitment to fostering equity, belonging, and student success

Reports to: Building Principal

Work Year: School Year (184 days)

Salary/Benefits: Consistent with the negotiated educator salary schedule

Performance Responsibilities
  • Provide developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
  • Deliver engaging literacy, mathematics, social-emotional, and play‑based learning experiences
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students
  • Utilize assessment data to inform instruction and monitor student progress
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies and routines
  • Collaborate with grade‑level teams, specialists, interventionists, and administration
  • Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and classroom activities
  • Support the social, emotional, and behavioral development of students
  • Participate in professional development, curriculum work, and district initiatives
  • Maintain accurate student records and comply with district and state requirements
Physical and Environmental Demands

  • Ability to work in a normal classroom, office and school building environment.
  • Ability to move freely about the building to perform duties with staff.
  • Ability to utilize computers and other administrative technologies appropriate to the position.
