Job DescriptionInstructional Assistant for Integrated Preschool Classroom. Gateway Regional School District is looking for a dynamic early childhood Instructional Assistant to work in the integrated preschool classroom for Littleville Elementary School. The ideal candidate will be energetic, caring and able to work as a team player.
Responsibilities- Work with students with limited academic, behavioral and social skills and support young children with a broad range of abilities, including students with disabilities.
- Promote independence, social skills, and language development.
- Be flexible with job duties.
- Take feedback and instruction from classroom teacher and therapists.
- Maintain professionalism around confidentiality.
- Frequently get up and down from the ground throughout the day.
- Assist with toilet training and diaper changing.
- Supervise outdoor activities.
- Perform limited cleaning and disinfection of the classroom, especially with snack set up.
- Show willingness to learn.
- Perform additional duties such as supervision of recess, bus duty, etc., as needed.
- Provide coverage across two programs to ensure students with disabilities receive appropriate support and services.
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
Associate’s degree or higher preferred. - Coursework in early childhood education preferred.
- Experience working with young children both with and without disabilities preferred.
- Experience with or knowledge of children with Autism preferred.
- Knowledge of sign language is a plus though not necessary.
- Salary Range: $18.24-$19.18 dependent upon education, experience, and placement.
