Job DescriptionWebster Public Schools is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Therapeutic Classroom Special Education Teacher at Webster Middle School. The teacher provides specialized academic, behavioral, and social-emotional instruction/support to students with social-emotional disabilities within a therapeutic classroom setting. The teacher creates a structured, supportive, and trauma-sensitive environment that promotes emotional regulation, academic growth, social skills, and student independence. Responsibilities include differentiating instruction, implementing accommodations and behavioral support strategies, monitoring student progress, writing progress reports, conducting assessments, and ensuring compliance with IEPs.
The teacher collaborates with General Education Teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success and inclusion when appropriate. Strong classroom management, communication, collaboration, crisis intervention, and problem-solving skills are essential. Experience supporting students with significant social-emotional and behavioral needs is preferred.
