The Middle High School Math Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering effective mathematics instruction to students in grades 7–12. The teacher will foster a positive learning environment that supports critical thinking, problem‑solving, and mastery of mathematical concepts ranging from basic arithmetic to higher‑level topics such as Algebra, Geometry, and Pre‑Calculus, depending on grade level.
Qualifications (Preferred)- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Math Education, or a related field.
- Possession of a math teaching license through the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education at the middle and/or high school level.
- SEI Endorsement.
- Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience with data‑driven instruction.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check (C.O.R.I.) and fingerprint check.
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with state and district math standards.
- Teach math concepts appropriate to the grade level, including topics such as pre‑algebra, algebra, geometry, statistics, and/or calculus.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Assess student understanding regularly through quizzes, tests, projects, and formative assessments.
- Provide timely feedback and support to help students improve their mathematical skills.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with varying abilities, including those with IEPs or English language learners.
- Integrate technology and digital tools to enhance instruction and student engagement.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of student progress, attendance, and communication.
- Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and families to support student success.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and curriculum planning.
- Ability to work in a normal classroom, office and school building environment.
- Ability to move freely about the building to perform duties with staff.
- Ability to utilize computers and other administrative technologies appropriate to the position.
- Bachelor degree preferred.
